Bravery Award

Heading:   ICCW Bravery awards for Children and Youth are given to children who are between the ages of 6 -18 years (Child Award) and 18-24 Years (Youth Award) when they committed their acts of bravery.

The main objective of the scheme is to give due recognition to the children and youth who perform acts of bravery with a view to inspire other children to follow their example. The deed should be “an act of spontaneous selfless service in the face of risk to life or threat of physical injury and or an act of courage and daring against a social evil/crime”.  

Nominations are received in the prescribed application form which can be obtained from CWC headquarters office or can be downloaded from CWC Pb. website.  The application should be recommended by the listed Competent Authorities.  The form is to be accompanied by a write-up of about 250 words giving the details of the deed performed by the applicant, proof of date of birth, Newspaper/Magazine clippings and/or  the First Information Report (FIR) or Police Diary filed with the Police Station. The account of the incident as well as the supporting documents should preferably be endorsed by the listed Competent Authorities.

AGE-LIMIT: Awards will be given in two categories.

  • The  applicant  should  not  be  below  6  years  and  above  18  years of age on the date of the incident (Child Award).
  • The applicant should not be below 18 years  and above 24 years of age on the date of the incident (Youth Award).

RECOMMENDING/COMPETENT AUTHORITIES: The application must be recommended by the following:

1.         Principal/Headmaster of school in which the applicant is studying.

2.         President or General Secretary or any other Office Bearer of the State Council for Child Welfare.

3.         Any retired Government Officer.
