Child Welfare Council, Punjab organized State Level Veer Bal Diwas in collaboration with District Child Welfare Council, Ludhiana on 12-12-2025 at BCM Arya Model Sr. Secondary School, Ludhiana. The programme was inaugurated by Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor, Punjab & President, Child Welfare Council, Punjab. A bouquet was presented to the Governor, Punjab by Mrs. Prajakta Avhad, Chairperson, CWC, Pb. & Mr. Himanshu Jain IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.
The programme initiated with National Anthem and Lighting Lamp by the Chief guest & other dignitaries. Mrs. Prajakta Avhad, Chairperson, CWC, Pb. welcomed the Governor, Punjab and gave a detailed note of activities being run by the CWC, Pb. for the welfare of children in the State. She said that the Council organizes Bal Diwas every year wherein children from different districts of Punjab participate. This year, District Ludhiana accepted the Council’s request to host the State Level Veer Bal Diwas function. In this function, various competitions like Shabad/Bhajan Gayan, Declamation Contest, Skit Competition & Poster Making competition are being organized. She also added that Child Welfare Council, Punjab organized State Level Painting Competition in Malerkotla on 21st November, 2025 in which students of various districts participated. Their paintings were adjudged in the office of the Council by eminent judges. Thirty children were selected as State Level Painting Competition Winners. She said that these winners will be honoured by the Governor, Punjab in today’s function.
Dr. Pragati Verma, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Ludhiana said that District Ludhiana is very grateful to HE Governor, Punjab for gracing the occasion. He welcomed the children who had come from various distrits to participate in the function. Student of BCM Arya School presented Saraswati Vandana & Bhajan on the occasion.
Governor, Punjab honoured the State Level Painting Competition Winners & Life members of DCWC, Ludhiana on the occasion.
After the inaugural function, the competitions started in which the winners of District Level Veer Bal Diwas participated. The competitions were adjudged by the prominent judges of Ludhiana. The first three winners of each competition were given medals & certificates by the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana & Mrs. Prajakta Avhad, Chairperson, CWC, Pb. Participation certificates were given to all the participants by the CWC, Pb. The programme concluded with National Anthem. DCWC, Ludhiana arranged for breakfast & lunch for all the children & teachers of all the districts.
